Why self-care?

In today's world we are being pushed and pulled in every direction. Everything is important, except us. But that's not true, WE are the most important thing in our own life and it's time we start doing something to show ourselves some love.Self-care in the 325 is a Central Texas based blog sharing tips, positive messages and love in hopes that the world will catch on and start taking care of itself. Even if that's one person at a time.
Do something for yourself today and begin a journey where you are your biggest cheerleader. Make a difference in your own life. It's not being selfish, it's loving yourself.

It's easy to let ourselves get overwhelmed, but remember we only need to take things one day at a time - or one hour at a time if that is all you can manage right now. Every so often, throughout your day remind yourself to soften your forehead, unclench your jaw, relax your shoulders. You are holding tension in your body - allow yourself to relax.

Me time
"Me time" is so important. I am sure you've heard the saying "you can't pour from an empty cup." Well "me time" is how we replenish our cup. Take some time, if you need to - MAKE some time, for yourself. It's vital.

In this crazy world we live in, we could all benefit from slowing down. What brings you peace? Spending time outdoors? Taking a break from electronics? Reading a book? "Set peace of mind as your highest goal, and organize your life around it."~ Brian Tracy this mean?

What does that mean? Mindfulness is about focusing on the present. When you take time for self-care, you want to be present. Try not to let yourself fret about the past, worry about what is going on now or in the future. Just be.
